Modern meets classic Hamptons Style

The Kitchen

Designed with large family gatherings in mind, the kitchen is equipped with two sinks, a free-standing oven, pull out mantle sides, and a large island bench. Appliances were integrated for a modern take on the classic Hampton’s style. Lynette chose a variation of handles from our Castella Estate range including the D Handle, T Knob and Bail Handle in the White / Brushed Nickel finish.

“It’s important to have quality handles in a kitchen as they finish off the design, reinforce the style and are the main physical touch point to the cabinetry. A kitchen is a considerable investment in the home and a space that is used and enjoyed daily, so it’s important that the hardware is of high quality because it’s physically grasped every time the kitchen is used. Cheap hardware can cheapen the user experience of the entire kitchen. I chose Castella because the quality and range of traditional styles available.”

The Laundry

T knobs and bail handles from Castella’s Estate range provided modern functionality without compromising on the style of this space. The white detail also perfectly complemented the modern white shaker cabinetry, marble splashback, and butlers sink. Raising the washing machine and clothes dryer created an ergonomic laundry area by eliminating the need to bend over, while the space above and beneath the appliances was utilised to ensure plentiful storage options. Finally, the bench nook between the door and appliances provides a perfect storage spot for the laundry basket.

Lynette’s favourite element in the design are the details in the cabinetry, and she thoroughly enjoyed working with the owners to bring their creative vision to life.

“The clients were amazing to work with, they were every designer’s dream. We faced a lot of hurdles together as an insurance company was involved and Melbourne’s lockdowns slowed the renovation right down. When the renovation was finished it completely changed the client’s home in such as positive way. The home is dramatically lighter, warmer, and very welcoming.”
